Project LR3
In February 2009 we purchased a 2006 Land Rover LR3. Although most LR3’s will never stray far from tarmac, they are a very capable vehicle off-road. In the spirit of improving on a good thing we decided to build up our own LR3. Over the next several months we will be adding components from select vendors as well as designing and fabricating some of our own products.

Stage 1: March, 2009 – MagnaFlow Exhaust
Although our first modification will not improve the off-road prowess of our LR3, we were pining to differentiate our LR3 from its stock form. The knowledgeable people at MagnaFlow were kind enough to send us a catalyst-back exhaust for our evaluation. The MagnaFlow exhaust is constructed of stainless steel and very well crafted. The first turn of the key yielded a deep, hearty tone, yet devoid of the overbearing decibel level fellow motorists frown upon. The factory exhaust served an injustice to the 4.4L Jaguar motor with negligible audible recognition of what lay hidden under the bonnet. The MagnaFlow exhaust denotes that yes, there is in fact a V8 under the hood, and sets a smile on our face every time we turn that key.
